By Mark Ryberg
In a world of ancient mysteries and noble chivalry,
we forge new alliances and face all too familiar foes
across battlefields of mud and blood.

Through celestial castles of cloud we ride the steeds
of our invention to destroy the enemy. We sail
ships of iron upon seas where death lurks beneath
the waves in the form of a stalking submariner. We
furrow and burrow our way to the fight under every
front. For we are warriors standing at the end of
this great age, an age where machines of industry
face mystical powers.

It is the end of kings . . .

Obviously this apple hasn't fallen far from the tree.  Here's a model that I
comissioned to be built by Karen Gosselins' father, Richard Williams.

It's been beautifully constructed here on a display that is characteristic of
Richards' level of care and detail.  Oddly enough as he put the model
together he thought it was very unstable until he connected all the stabilizing
cables (which he makes from scratch using his own technique, no
fishing line here).  Once the cables were in place the model frame became
stable.  The DH2 was a pusher propellor plane from the era of the Great
War.

An actual DH2 can be seen at the Owls Head Transportation Museum in
Rockland, Maine.

"The Screaming Eagle Brigade at War"
The history of the Screaming Eagle Brigade is an illustrious one.  They
were formed as Calvary Scouts for the Federated States.  When the frontier
wars were concluded and the Eagle Tribes returned to their secluded aeries
in the Cascadera Mountains.  Over the years they were willing to let the world
forget about them and their contributions to that nexus of existence
they shared with the other beings of their troubled planet.  Yet upon the
eve of this Great War their warriors shared the same spirit journey and knew
that once again they would be called upon.  They went to war and were
quickly shuttled to the most active area of the front.  Though beset by
Human, Troll and Ogre forces of the Centrist Powers they held their post
earning two unit citations and gratitude of their host nation.
